Idle Shutdown Timer (IST)

The document will address unique idle shutdown timer functionality for 2008 and 2009 MaxxForce® 11L and 13L engines.

For most applications; refer to the Standard IST feature documents.

If the engine:

Was ordered prior to September 1, 2009

And was ordered with California emissions

And has not been updated to the “Clean Idle” calibration

Then the engine will have a Legacy CARB IST feature. For this type of IST feature you will need to update the calibration or refer to the Legacy CARB IST document.
